Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She's written 15 books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. She emigrated from Greece to England at the age of 16 and obtained a MA at Cambridge University in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the prestigious debate group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the presidency. Following after her college graduation, she became a prominent conservative syndicated journalist. In the years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. Her fame and popularity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained fame when she made the decision to stand independently for the California recall election to replace then Governor Davis. In addition, she led a Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. She was named one of the Most influential women in media by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th place in that list. In the same year Guardian listed her among the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL properties at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a management and journalism consultant. They were very close to her father. However, it was her relationship with her mother which formed her. She displayed leadership qualities from the beginning. She moved to England at 16, to pursue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. As a student and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the college debating societies where she eventually became its first foreign and female president. In 1972, she graduated with a Masters in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she was a journalist and TV host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own books with his aid.
