Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with twelve other kids. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she was able to read and write she was making up her own songs. Once she had her first guitar at age of eight, she started to perform on radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. She recorded her first album in the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. As a student in high school She made her mark local, but longed for an even bigger stage. On the very day she was able to graduate from the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to join his syndicated show at this point. Parton began her career in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. Parton left the show but in 1974, because her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" to Wagoner just after the pair split. It hit number. The first time that a song hit the top spot.
